History

SOVZOND JSC, a private sector enterprise founded in 1992, began its activities by providing services centering around digital remote sensing data processing and mapping. These services were soon combined with information system technologies.

Today, SOVZOND offers a broad range of applications, ranging from geodata procurement (satellite data, DEM, land use and land cover data), value adding processing, data processing and software development to the provision of turn-key technical assistance projects and customized spatial land management and monitoring systems.

The Company

SOVZOND is an authorized distributor and sales representative for leading Earth information organizations worldwide. Since 1999 SOVZOND distributes in the Russian market and abroad Earth remote sensing digital data acquired from foreign satellites and Russian imagery.  We provide clients in diverse industries with digital data acquired Resurs-DK, QuickBird, IKONOS, OrbView, Monitor-E, SPOT, IRS-1C/1D, Resoucesat, Cartosat, ALOS, etc. satellites.

SOVZOND has the exclusive rights for distribution of QuickBird satellite imagery in the eight CIS countries of  Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

SOVZOND`s unique value stems from combining distinctive data acquisition and analysis services with consultants who are trained in diverse scientific disciplines, and who have vast experience in working with advanced imaging technologies. SOVZOND is committed to providing clients across the globe with accurate data analysis and interpretation services, as well as customized software solutions.

SOVZOND has vast experience in the field of satellite data processing, analysis and interpretation. Since the very foundation we have fulfilled over 30 projects together with the Russian Aviation and Space Agency.  The current database of our customers includes over 5000 private companies and state institutions.

Nowadays the company has a wide network of partners across Russia and covers all the segments of the market working closely with the main Russian ministries and federal agencies as well as with commercial companies. The company’s customers include The Ministry of Natural Resources; The Ministry of Agriculture; The Federal Cadastral Agency; The Russian Space Agency; The Federal Service for Geodesy and Cartography of Russia; The Russian Academy of Sciences; many local municipalities in Russia’s largest cities; RAO United Energy Systems of Russia, and major oil and gas companies including Gazprom and Rosneft.

As part of its customers oriented strategy SOVZOND provides full range of solutions for the imagery processing. For these purposes the company signed exclusive agreement for promotion of ITT products (ENVI, IDL, FLAASH, IAS, NoeSys) in Russia and former Soviet countries, providing technical and training support for the customers.
